Encaustic Graphic Tiles at a Fraction of the Price

Today at Lark and Linen, Kristin from The Hunted Interior, is talking about one of her favorite looks – encaustic tiles! More importantly, cement encaustic tiles which are a favorite of mine. I’ve been obsessed with these Cuban patterned cement tiles from the Tile Gallery here in Chicago since… forever.

Classic cement tiles are handmade, decorative, colorful tiles used primarily as floor and wall coverings. Floors or walls covered with these tiles are noted for their multicolor patterns, durability and sophisticated look. The tiles’ playful patterns  and versatility have been attracting the attention of architects and designers for large commercial projects such as restaurants and hotels. This is only a small selection of the many patterns and colors of cement tiles available.

Please take a visit to the Tile Gallery to see all the patterns and colors of these timeless tiles and fall in love too!

I’m also obsessed with Turkish towels, especially these because they have a thick terry cloth side to them as well.

Black and white bathroom with graphic tile floor

Hey guys! The Hunted Interior here taking over while Jacquelyn is off on vacation. Today we’re focusing on gorgeous graphic tile. Encaustic graphic tiles seem to be filling the magazine pages & pinterest Boards at the moment. They are gorgeously graphic & make such an impact wherever they’re used. The patterns and production methods are centuries old, but they feel fresh & modern when installed today. Encaustic tiles, or cement tiles, are created where the pattern exists throughout the body of the tile, so as the tile is worn, the pattern continues to remain. While absolutely stunning, they can also get a tad pricey. Fortunately for anyone wanting the look for less, ceramic reproductions have been created as well. While the pattern is virtually printed onto the tile & not throughout as with the encaustic, you receive the same look but for only around $2 a tile. So whether you are looking to invest or save a bit, there are options readily available for nearly any budget.
