Tour a Colorful Coastal Home
The weather is warming up here in Chicago and I’m loving it! The trees are beginning to get leaves. The bulbs are pushing through the ground. I was out and about today in short sleeves. Oh yes, we are ready for the change of seasons. And as things begin to warm up people begin thinking about how to reflect this in their home decor.
One of the easiest ways to bring summer into your home is to lighten up – literally! Go lighter with your color palette and go lighter with your textures. Bring out the white linens, the pale colored coverlets and reduce the number bed pillows. Take up the wool rug under your dining table and layer a fun color striped cotton over a sisal then change out your placemats and napkins in a contrasting color. In the living room you can switch out the pillow covers and bring in some colorful floor pillows or cushy poofs to encourage lounging. Now is also the perfect time to take down the drapes (and get them dry cleaned) then hang some breezy sheers or nothing at all!
Liz Lynch at Domaine breaks down the warm weather look in her blog post Tour a Colorful Coastal Home by showcasing a coastal home that lives in summer casual all year long.
A playful combination of color and texture invigorate this coastal abode. We love the home’s woven details and nautical nods as well as the compact kitchen which is perfect for entertaining. Designed by Ryan White, this colorful space is the ultimate seaside escape. Keep scrolling to take a tour!
