Classic White Kitchen Backsplashes

I needed to find some examples of gorgeous white subway tiles with light gray grout used in a kitchen for a client who is doing a beautiful update to his cabinets, counters, and tile work. Lucky for me, Mary Ann Pickett at Classic Casual Home has a blog post today about classic white kitchen backsplashes that helped me out in a big way so I wanted to share the gorgeousness.

For this project we’re going with the classic 3 x 6 white subway tiles, laid out in either a brickwork or staggered brickwork pattern and hopefully the client signs off on a light gray grout which will give a soft definition to the tile and pattern without being dominant. The focus is going to be on the custom cabinet doors made from handpicked birch selected for the outstanding grain. The end result will be stunning and I can’t wait to share it.

Subway tile is a good bet for timelessness.

The tiles above in my cousins’ kitchen is the rectangular version of this…Walker Zanger Crackle Ceramic.

Think of how long the Paris Metro Tiles have been around.

I have been looking at white tiles for backslashes for two different clients.

This elongated subway tile, Walker Zanger 6th Avenue, has a more modern look.

Here are subway tiled backslashes in some friends’ homes…

Here are some good choices…
These aren’t white but, I like them…

These are inexpensive Porcelain tiles also from Home Depot.

Marble tiles are also a pretty choice like, Ann Sacks Calacatta Marble.

You can also consider a solid marble backsplash for a classic look.

I hope this design idea for the kitchen has inspired you too!
