These beautiful weathered iron planters get a winter makeover with the addition of some fragrant fir branches and bright red twigs.  It’s an easy and inexpensive way to dress up empty planters for the holidays!

These beautiful planters were filled with fir branches that had been cut off the base of Christmas trees purchased at Home Depot.  Home Depot keeps a bin for recycling the branches and they also allow customers to pull as many branches as you would like, with a purchase, of course.  Each planter has nearly a dozen large or small branches placed in at angles like creating a floral arrangement.  I then added my purchased red twigs to give it extra holiday appeal.
